The accused has been identified as Rohit, a resident of Uncha Majra village in Haryana's Gurugram district. Police said he is a final-year B.Com student and that no prior criminal record has been found against him so far.

According to police, the arrest was made on October 24 following a tip-off about individuals procuring drugs from Delhi and supplying them to neighbouring areas of the National Capital Region (NCR). A team led by Inspector Satish Kumar, under the supervision of ACP (Operations) Subhash Malik, laid a trap near Harsukh Apartments in Sector 1, Dwarka, as part of the 'Drug-Free Dwarka' campaign under Dwarka DCP Kushal Pal Singh.

Following the recovery, a case was registered under FIR No. 323/2026, dated October 24, under Sections 8 and 21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at Dwarka South police station. The 101 grams recovered is classified as an intermediate quantity under the NDPS Act. Two mobile phones were also seized from the accused, and he was placed in police custody for two days for further questioning, according to reports.

During interrogation, Rohit allegedly disclosed that he had travelled from Haryana to Delhi to collect the heroin consignment, and that he obtained it from a foreign national in the Janakpuri area on the instructions of a person identified as Jaivinder, who was in contact with the suspected supplier. These are police allegations based on the accused's questioning and have not been proved in court. Police said CCTV footage is being examined to identify the suspected supplier and other possible associates, and further investigation is underway.
