Police identified the arrested accused as Seeman Singh alias Samaal (27) and Harbhajan Singh alias Babbu (20), both residents of the Guru Harsahai sub-division of Ferozepur district. They are accused in an alleged drug-smuggling case; the allegations are under investigation and have not been proven in court.
TV9 Punjabi, citing police sources, put the suspected heroin's value in the international market at more than Rs 75 crore — yaani, more than 750 million rupees. Police officials said the exact nature and weight of the seized substance will be determined only after forensic and laboratory tests.
A case has been registered against the two accused and police are questioning them to uncover the wider smuggling network, including possible cross-border and local backward and forward links, the reports said. Charhdi Kala also reported the same seizure — around 15 kg in 30 packets, the Splendor motorcycle seized, and further investigation under way.
