Governor Yegor Kovalchuk said a 30-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man were killed in the attack on the house, and that the five injured were four women and one man, the SRNA news agency reported. Kovalchuk said Russian forces had destroyed 29 Ukrainian drones over the Bryansk region over the past 24 hours, according to both reports.

Bryansk region borders Ukraine, and settlements near the frontier have repeatedly come under drone and artillery fire since Russia's full-scale invasion in 2022. Reuters could not independently verify the governor's account of Saturday's strike, and Ukraine had not commented on the specific Klimovo incident in the reports available at the time of publication.

Moscow claims 433 drones downed overnight

Russia's Defence Ministry said on Saturday that its air defence units had intercepted and destroyed 433 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight over 19 Russian regions, and claimed its own strikes had hit a combined heat and power plant in Kyiv, industrial facilities in Kharkiv and a cargo ship off Odesa, according to a report summarising the ministry's Telegram statements. The ministry did not say whether any drones had reached their targets inside Russia.

Ukrainian officials had not publicly confirmed the specific Russian claims about the Kyiv power plant, the Kharkiv facilities or the cargo ship at the time of that report, and neither side's overnight figures could be independently verified.
