Final opinion polls ahead of Israel's national election on Tuesday, October 27 indicate continued political deadlock, with neither Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's governing bloc nor the opposition-led change bloc projected to secure the 61 seats required for a majority in the 120-seat Knesset in most surveys, ANI reported on Saturday, citing The Times of Israel. The surveys, aired by Israeli television channels on Friday, were the final polls permitted before the vote; Israeli law bars publication of new polls in the last days before an election.

According to ANI's report of the Times of Israel summary, a Channel 13 poll predicted 54 seats for the change bloc against 50 for parties loyal to Netanyahu, with predominantly Arab parties securing 16 seats; it projected 22 seats for Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar, 19 for Netanyahu's Likud, 14 for Naftali Bennett's B'Yachad and 10 for the left-wing Democrats, with the Joint List at nine and Shas and Ra'am at seven each. A Channel 12 survey projected 56 seats for the change bloc and 50 for the governing coalition, with the Joint List and Ra'am together at 14. ANI reported that Eisenkot's Yashar was projected as the largest single party in two of the three main surveys, ahead of Likud.

Two other surveys told a different story, and both are reported here with attribution. An i24NEWS survey by Direct Polls gave Netanyahu's bloc 59 seats — including four for Ofer Winter's Amcha Israel party, which the other surveys projected below the threshold — against 47 for the Eisenkot-associated bloc. A Channel 14 poll by NEXT DATA, conducted under Shlomo Filber among 7,937 respondents, projected an unchanged 62-seat majority for Netanyahu's bloc, with Likud at 30 seats and Yashar at 20, and gave Netanyahu a 55%-45% lead over Eisenkot on suitability for prime minister. The wide spread between surveys — Netanyahu's bloc ranges from 50 to 62 depending on the pollster — is itself the story three days before the vote.

What all the surveys agree on is the arithmetic of the threshold and the smaller parties: several parties — including Yoaz Hendel's Reservists and Winter's People of Israel in most polls — are projected to fall below the 3.25% electoral threshold, which would waste their votes and reshape the final seat count, and Arab parties, projected at 14 to 16 seats combined, could decide who can form a government if neither bloc reaches 61. These are opinion-poll projections reported by the named outlets, not results; Israel votes on Tuesday, October 27. What is solid

  • The final pre-election polls were published on Friday, Oct 23, ahead of the Oct 27 vote, and no new polls may be published in the final days under Israeli law
  • Kan 11, Channel 12 and Channel 13 surveys put Netanyahu's bloc at 50 seats and the change bloc at 52-56, with Arab parties at 14-16
  • A majority in the 120-seat Knesset requires 61 seats

What is only claimed

  • The i24NEWS/Direct Polls survey (Netanyahu bloc 59) and the Channel 14/NEXT DATA survey (Netanyahu bloc 62) contradict the other three surveys — pollsters differ sharply, and none of these figures is a result
