Result follows the October 31 suspected-case alert
Awaaz Punjab reported on October 31 that two suspected Ebola cases had been identified in Nigeria's northeast, prompting isolation and contact-tracing while laboratory testing was conducted. The NCDC said the alert was received by the Adamawa State Public Health Emergency Operations Centre in the early hours of October 30, after the two individuals presented with symptoms suggestive of Ebola; they were isolated and samples were collected for laboratory investigation, the GB Journal reported.

"Fortunately, the samples turned out negative for EVD after two rounds of testing," Dr Idris said, according to Chronicle NG. He confirmed that Adamawa currently has no laboratory-confirmed Ebola case, and that the previously confirmed case in the Federal Capital Territory remained Nigeria's only confirmed Ebola infection.

Nigeria confirmed that Federal Capital Territory infection on October 20, involving a woman who had travelled from Uganda, the GB Journal reported. The NCDC said it was working closely with the Adamawa State Government, through the State Ministry of Health and Human Services, to investigate the report and implement appropriate public health measures, and it commended the state's health commissioner and team for their prompt response, assuring residents it would continue to provide technical support.
