Regional governor Oleksandr Hanzha said on Telegram that at least five more people were wounded, Reuters reported. CNN, citing Ukrainian authorities, put the number injured at 10. Rescuers, medics and law-enforcement officers were working at the scene, and medical teams were treating the wounded.
"Despite a warning of heightened danger, people were on the platform," Ukrzaliznytsia said, according to Reuters. Dnipro mayor Borys Filatov wrote on Telegram: "Many people were killed. Lots were injured."
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy described the strike as horrific and offered condolences to the families of those killed. In a post reported by CNN, he called for sanctions on Moscow and its war machine not to be eased while Russia's war continues, and urged stronger sanctions steps by the European Union, the United States and the G7.

Ukrainian Railways said Russia has repeatedly targeted trains and railway infrastructure since the start of its full-scale invasion in 2022. No Russian comment on the Dnipro strike was reported in the initial coverage, and the toll is based on Ukrainian official statements carried by Reuters and CNN.
