Ukraine and Russia exchanged drone strikes on Saturday, with Ukrainian drones hitting a petrochemical plant and an online retailer's warehouse in Russia's Omsk region, while a Russian attack killed three people and injured at least eight others in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region, the Associated Press reported.

Ukrainian defence operations company Fire Point said its drones were used to strike the Omsky Kauchuk petrochemical plant and a warehouse belonging to online retailer Ozon in Omsk. Regional governor Vitaly Khotsenko had earlier reported an attack on an industrial zone — the Kyiv Independent reported he said a logistics hub in Omsk was attacked, personnel were evacuated and emergency services were working at the scene — but he did not initially confirm which facilities had been hit or assess the damage. The Omsk region, in southwestern Siberia, is home to an oil refinery operated by Gazprom Neft.

The strike reached roughly 2,500 kilometres from Ukraine's border, according to Ukrainian monitoring channels and local Russian authorities reported by the Kyiv Independent. A fire first broke out at the Omsky Kauchuk plant, according to monitoring channel Exilenova Plus. The facility is one of Russia's largest petrochemical plants, producing synthetic rubber, organic synthesis products and methyl tert-butyl ether, an additive used in gasoline refining. Exilenova Plus said the plant is part of Russia's supply chain for rocket fuel, including for the Iskander ballistic missile — a claim Awaaz Punjab attributes to the channel and could not independently verify.

What is only claimed
- Fire Point and Ukrainian monitoring channels say the Omsky Kauchuk plant and an Ozon warehouse were hit and a fire broke out; Russian officials had not confirmed which facilities were hit or the extent of damage. Russia's Energy Ministry said Ukrainian attacks cut power in Crimea and Russian-controlled areas — a claim from a party to the war.
Three killed in Dnipropetrovsk apartment strike
In Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region, a Russian drone attack killed three people and injured at least eight others, including an 11-year-old girl, the regional governor said. The strike triggered a fire on the fourth floor of an apartment block and also damaged a nearby shop and several cars. Awaaz Punjab is not identifying the child or the other victims.

Power cuts in Crimea and occupied areas
Ukrainian attacks on energy infrastructure cut electricity to parts of Crimea and Russian-controlled areas of eastern and southern Ukraine, Russia's Energy Ministry said. The affected regions included Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk, along with the Crimean peninsula, which Russia annexed in 2014. The ministry did not disclose how many people were affected, and said repair crews were working to restore electricity while temporary power cuts had been introduced to help stabilise the grid.
