The United States is sending a third aircraft carrier strike group toward the Middle East, two US officials confirmed to Fox News, as Washington keeps open the option of renewed strikes on Iran after the November 3 midterm elections. The USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group and the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, sailing with the USS Makin Island amphibious ready group, are expected to arrive by the end of November, adding roughly 10,000 sailors and Marines.

The Roosevelt will join the USS George H.W. Bush and the USS George Washington, both already operating in the Arabian Sea, according to Fox News reporting carried by The Media Line and JFeed. The Media Line, citing the US Naval Institute, said the Roosevelt left San Diego on September 27, called at Yokosuka, Japan, on October 16 and departed three days later, and noted the arrival could also partly be a planned rotation replacing the George Washington — the Pentagon has not detailed the exact objective or schedule.

The deployment was reported a day after US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth reportedly met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Ovda Air Base, Israel Realtime reported. Hegseth said he had visited US forces in Israel and spoken with Netanyahu but would not discuss details, and President Donald Trump told reporters he could not discuss the meeting. Trump said of Iran: "We're doing very well when it comes to Iran. All that remains is for us to make the final decision on how we want to win."

Iran's side was also hardening in the same reports. Senior Iranian officials told Reuters that Tehran is deliberately prolonging negotiations to deny Trump a political victory before the midterms, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that any further escalation would pose a serious threat to civilians in the region and to the global economy. Qatar and Pakistan have reportedly proposed a compromise involving financial relief for Iran in exchange for nuclear inspections — that proposal is reported, not confirmed by Washington or Tehran. For the lakhs of Indian and Punjabi workers in the Gulf, a third carrier is not an abstract signal: any renewed US-Iran fighting has previously meant flight disruptions, shipping risk in Hormuz and oil-price spikes that travel straight to fuel and remittance costs.
