MOSCOW - A drone attack on Russia's Voronezh region killed two men and injured 17 people, including a child, regional governor Alexander Gusev said on Monday, Reuters reported. Reuters said it could not independently verify the report.

Gusev wrote on the MAX messaging app that air defence systems had destroyed 113 drones over the region. Fires also broke out at several industrial sites, he said.
A passenger train bound for Moscow from Anapa, in Russia's Krasnodar region, was also damaged and five passengers were injured, Russian Railways said. Train services through Voronezh have been suspended, the railway operator said.
The reported attack on Voronezh, a region bordering Ukraine, came on the same night that Ukrainian officials said Russian strikes injured six people in Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia and Chernihiv regions and hit power and port infrastructure - the latest overnight exchange in a war in which both sides regularly target energy and transport networks.
In an interview aired on Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said Kyiv would halt its strikes on Russian oil refineries if Moscow stopped hitting Ukraine's power infrastructure, and alternatively asked the United States to allow wider use of its satellite systems to detect missile launch sites or to supply more Patriot air-defence missiles, Reuters reported.
