Open flames on the seven tank cars were extinguished at 12:44 local time, more than 10 hours after the fire began. A total of 316 people and 35 units of equipment were assigned to the response, including 58 Emergencies Ministry personnel and 20 ministry units, Railway Supply reported from the notice.
The Sverdlovsk Railway's press service said no one was killed or injured in the incident, Zamin reported. Zamin, also citing the regional Emergencies Ministry directorate, reported that the derailed cars included tank cars loaded with petroleum products or combustible materials; the updated EMERCOM notice reported by Railway Supply did not say what the tank cars were carrying.
