Kurukshetra, Oct 25: Thousands of guest teachers from across Haryana on Sunday took out a rally in Kurukshetra and marched towards Chandigarh, demanding regularisation of their services in accordance with court rulings, The Hindu reported. The teachers will submit a memorandum to the Haryana Governor seeking implementation of the State government's three-year regularisation policy.

The march, described by the organisers as a 'Nyay Yatra', was called by the Guest Teachers Joint Struggle Front, Haryana. Teachers gathered at Taj Park in Kurukshetra carrying banners and posters and set out for Chandigarh, urging the government to initiate the regularisation process in accordance with court orders, indiaepost reported.

The march comes alongside a protest outside the Mini Secretariat in Kurukshetra that has been going on since June 23. The teachers said they held three major rallies, submitted memoranda to Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, and held four rounds of talks with the State government, but there has been no resolution, according to The Hindu's report.
Morcha president Krishan Dharshool said guest teachers had been serving in government schools across Haryana with dedication for many years and had kept the education system running even in challenging circumstances, but the question of regularising their services remained unresolved, indiaepost reported. The Front's principal demand is that the government regularise eligible guest teachers under the three-year policy introduced in 2014, and it appealed to the government to respect the court's orders and expedite the process.
The teachers say they perform responsibilities similar to regular teachers but continue to work under a temporary arrangement, without permanent service security or the benefits of regularisation, and they called on the government to address their long-pending demands.
