Gas sales volumes rose 12 per cent year-on-year to 315 million standard cubic metres (MMSCM) in the July-September quarter. CNG volumes rose 17 per cent to 223 MMSCM, while piped natural gas (PNG) volumes increased three per cent to 92 MMSCM, according to the company's earnings release reported by BusinessLine.

The company added 16 CNG stations during the quarter, taking its network to 723 stations. Domestic PNG connections expanded to around 11.81 lakh households (yaani about 1.18 million homes) after nearly 40,000 new connections, and its steel pipeline network grew by 318 inch-km to 16,305 inch-km.

Higher input costs weighed on profitability: the cost of natural gas rose 43 per cent year-on-year amid elevated Brent-linked and spot gas prices, the withdrawal of pooled-gas support and the continuing West Asia crisis, the company said. ATGL said diversified sourcing and calibrated pricing helped it manage cost pressures while maintaining supply reliability.

Chief Executive Sanjay Pandita said the company delivered a strong performance in Q2 with volumes growing 12 per cent and revenue rising 34 per cent, supported by sustained CNG demand and deeper PNG penetration, despite the challenging operating environment, IANS reported.
