Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday (October 19, 2026) launched the upgraded Agri Welfare Portal in New Delhi, giving farmers across India direct access to government schemes, financial assistance and reliable agricultural information on their mobile phones, without visiting multiple offices or websites.

The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare said the platform will work as a single-window gateway to major initiatives including PM-KISAN, AgriStack and the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, and will also provide weather information, scientific farming practices, seed and fertiliser availability and prevailing market prices.

The portal will bring Farmer Producer Organisations, Primary Agricultural Credit Societies, agricultural scientists, researchers and startups together on a common platform.

Chouhan said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision is to ensure the government remains accessible to citizens and farmers at all times through their mobile phones, and that technology fulfils its true purpose only when it reaches farms and makes farmers' lives easier. He directed officials to keep the portal accurate and regularly updated, with simple language and processes for small and marginal farmers, and said a special training campaign will be run through Krishi Vigyan Kendras to help farmers use the portal and other digital tools.
