The suspensions come amid continued attacks on civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, including on airports in Riyadh and Dammam, IANS reported. Addressing a media briefing in New Delhi on Friday, Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said about 3,000 stranded Umrah pilgrims have returned to India from Saudi Arabia over the past week and more than 10,000 other Umrah pilgrims have also travelled back. The Embassy and Consulate are running 24x7 control rooms in Riyadh and Jeddah, are in touch with airlines and tour operators to facilitate the early return of the remaining pilgrims, and are issuing regular advisories, he said.
