Aichi-Nagoya (Japan): India's para table tennis star Bhavina Patel won a bronze medal at the Asian Para Games on Tuesday (October 20), taking India's medal tally at the Games to 12. Patel went down 0-3 to China's Zhang Bian in the women's singles Class 4-5 semi-final, losing 7-11, 5-11, 7-11 — but reaching the semi-final assured her the bronze, India's first medal of Day 2 after a haul of 11 medals on the opening day. Patel, a silver medallist at the Tokyo Paralympics, had earlier beaten China's Miao Zhang 3-1 in the quarter-finals.

In para badminton, India's mixed doubles pair of Pramod Bhagat and Manisha Ramdass assured themselves of a medal by reaching the SL3-SU5 semi-finals, defeating Thailand's Srinavakul Chanida and Teamarrom Siripong 21-15, 21-14 in just 25 minutes. In para archery, Harvinder Singh and Bhawna advanced in the recurve events, while all four Indian compound archers — Sheetal Devi, Payal Nag, Toman Kumar and Shyam Sunder Swami — reached the quarter-finals; Sheetal Devi beat Hong Kong's Chan Yuen Wah 149-134.
