Acting on intelligence inputs, troops of the Army's 52 Rashtriya Rifles and the Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested the two men from the Darpura Nursery area near Delina Ghat in Baramulla, officials said. "During the search, one Turkish-made pistol, one magazine with 10 rounds and two improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered from their possession," the officials said.

The Kashmir Horizon, citing the GNS news agency, reported the same recovery — a Canik Turkish-made pistol, one magazine with 10 rounds and two IEDs — and said both men hail from the Chinkipura area of Sopore.

Officials said both men were, prima facie, working as Over Ground Workers (OGWs) — civilian supporters who, according to security agencies, provide logistics, shelter and movement support to militant groups without directly taking part in combat — and were likely involved in the movement of weapons and explosives for terrorists. That assessment is the officials' allegation at this stage; further investigation has been taken up, they said.
