Bengaluru Police have arrested a 25-year-old migrant worker from Bihar for allegedly creating and uploading an AI-generated video that falsely showed an explosion at Vidhana Soudha, the seat of the Karnataka legislature, police said on Wednesday. No real blast occurred — the clip was entirely synthetic, officers clarified.

The accused has been identified as Hazarat Ali, a native of Bihar's Araria district who moved to Bengaluru a few months ago and was working in pipe-related daily-wage jobs. According to police, the video was uploaded on Instagram from an account named 'Jnx King Hg' and went viral on October 20.
In the clip, a person is seen making a gun-like trigger gesture, after which the legislature building appears to blow up. The post reportedly carried a caption claiming the Vidhana Soudha had been blown up with a bomb. The fabricated visuals sparked fear and outrage online, with users tagging Bengaluru Police and demanding action.
Case registered, account deactivated
Police said an edited, AI-generated blast video had been uploaded on Instagram, and a case was registered at the Vidhana Soudha police station. The Instagram account has since been deactivated. 'The accused has been arrested in this case, and investigation is going on,' police said, adding that officers are questioning him to ascertain his motive.
