New Delhi: Union Minister Bhupender Yadav on Sunday questioned the Congress for filing few objections during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, saying opposition parties want to confuse the public despite knowing the ground reality, ANI reported from his interview with the agency.

Citing a Supreme Court order, Yadav said booth-level agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties filed only two objections. Quoting the order, he said: 'The details of the BLAs appointed by these political parties have also been mentioned in a tabulated format. What surprises this court is that to date, 1,60,813 BLAs have filed only two objections.' He said the Congress had 17,000 BLAs in Bihar, ANI reported.
Yadav alleged, as his claim, that the opposition wants 'regime change' through foreign interference rather than the democratic electoral process, and accused it of doubting the integrity of constitutional institutions. In the same ANI interview series, he called attempts to storm sensitive public premises or constitutional offices 'unrivalled anarchy' rather than democratic opposition, and said Article 19 rights had not been suspended and a larger permitted protest site had been provided.

The Congress and INDIA bloc parties, for their part, allege 'vote chori' and irregularities involving the Election Commission in the revision exercise — allegations the government side disputes. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has asked party MPs to remain in Delhi from October 30 to November 1, when a 'Save the Vote, Save the Country' march and mega rally is scheduled at Ramlila Maidan, ANI reported earlier on Sunday.
