BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Wednesday led the party's 'Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao' (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy) march in Delhi's Chandni Chowk area, walking from Jain Lal Mandir near the Red Fort to Town Hall Chowk with a large number of party workers.

Addressing party workers, Nabin said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is 'not going anywhere' and will return to the ramparts of the Red Fort as prime minister after winning the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. 'The Congress is breathing its last for Rahul Gandhi. The way he is going, he will soon be the only worker left in the party,' he said, according to PTI.
On the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Nabin said Congress leaders were concerned about the exercise to clean the voter lists, but the BJP was determined to ensure that infiltrators were removed from them. Criticising Rahul Gandhi for opposing the SIR in many states, he said Gandhi 'has nothing to do with the Constitution' and that his party 'only listens to what he or his family dictates', PTI reported.
Nabin compared voter lists to account books that must be regularly audited and corrected, alleging the rolls contained deceased voters, duplicate entries and names of people whose whereabouts could not be established, IANS reported. He said democracy was safe under Modi's leadership, that the faith of the country's 140 crore citizens remained with the prime minister, and that the BJP governs 22 states — claims he made while urging workers to take the party's message door to door after the march.
The BJP march comes ahead of the opposition INDIA bloc's planned November 1 rally at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi over its 'vote chori' allegations against the election authorities — a campaign the BJP has rejected. What happens next will be decided by that rally and the continuing political fight over the SIR exercise.
