The 27-year-old Chaliha, currently ranked 36th in women's singles, had lost to Yamaguchi in straight games at the Denmark Open last week. This time she held her nerve at 19-19 in the first game and, after the players were level at 7-7 in the second, pulled away to complete a straight-games win, ANI reported. Yamaguchi, a three-time world champion, had finished runner-up at the BWF World Championships in New Delhi earlier this year.
