Chennai, October 21: Finance influencer V Harish, 27, who ran the brand 'Finance With Harish' and had about 1.3 million followers across Instagram and YouTube, was found dead at a rented villa near Muttukadu in Chennai on Tuesday, October 20, Latestly reported, citing ANI, and The Daily Jagran reported. Police suspect suicide, according to those reports; the cause and circumstances remain under investigation.

Harish's father, J Vinayagam, has filed a complaint alleging sustained cyberbullying, threats and extortion by fellow creator Jason Samuel, and has asked police to preserve digital evidence, including a video Harish recorded before his death, Particle News and Latestly reported. Those allegations have not been independently established and no court finding has been made.

Jason Samuel denied cyberbullying in a post on X on Tuesday evening. He said he had pointed out that Harish did not hold a SEBI registered investment adviser licence and had misrepresented AMFI credentials, and that he had asked Harish to return with a proper licence. 'I have not cyber-bullied him,' Samuel wrote, expressing shock and grief, as quoted by Latestly.

Kanathur police have registered a case of unnatural death, an autopsy has been carried out, and investigators are collecting witness statements and digital records, including Meta account-suspension timelines, reports said. Awaaz Punjab is reporting both sides as allegations until police complete their probe.
