The company's consolidated net profit fell to Rs 878 crore in the quarter ended September 30, from Rs 1,351 crore a year ago, Reuters reported. Analysts, on average, had expected profit to fall to Rs 942 crore, according to data compiled by LSEG, the report said. Upstox, in its Q2 results live updates, also reported a 35% decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 878 crore and revenue from operations down 2.44% to Rs 7,404 crore.

Revenue from operations fell 2.4% to Rs 7,404 crore during the quarter, partly due to a reclassification from April 1, 2026, that now presents certain marketing and promotional expenses as a reduction from revenue rather than under other expenses, with no impact on profit or cash flows, Reuters reported.

Revenue from its India business rose 12%, while North America revenue decreased 19% during the quarter, Reuters reported. India and North America together contribute about two-thirds of Cipla's revenue, the report said. The company is also banking on obesity drug Yurpeak, its brand of Eli Lilly's tirzepatide which it sells in India under a partnership with Lilly, to support growth, Reuters said.
