Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has asked party MPs to remain in Delhi from October 30 to November 1 amid the INDIA bloc's protests over alleged 'vote chori' and alleged irregularities involving the Election Commission of India, ANI reported. The allegations are the opposition's claims and have not been established as proven electoral fraud.

Kharge's communication cited the allegations concerning the Election Commission and the Chief Election Commissioner as the reason for the directive, ANI said.

Congress general secretary K.C. Venugopal said the bloc will hold a symbolic 'public impeachment' of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on October 30, followed by a march culminating in a rally at Ramlila Maidan on November 1, according to reports of his announcement.

Earlier on Sunday, Rahul Gandhi urged students, farmers, labourers, women, youth and traders to join the November 1 'Save the Vote, Save the Country' march and rally, alleging in a post on X that names had been removed from voter lists — an allegation the Congress has made repeatedly in its campaign.

The Congress has said it aims for a very large turnout at the November 1 rally. The BJP has previously condemned the protests as an attempt to undermine democratic institutions, according to reports.
