New Delhi — Delhi Police said on Saturday that a bomb-threat email received by Air Force Bal Bharati School on Lodhi Road on October 23 has been traced to a minor student of the same school. The email carried the subject line "Bombs Placed in Your Building" and came amid a recent spate of bomb-threat emails targeting schools across the national capital, police said. The student's identity has been withheld, as required for a child in conflict with the law.

According to police, the Cyber Police Station in South District constituted a dedicated team that conducted a detailed technical analysis of the email and examined digital evidence and associated linkages. Those efforts identified the alleged sender as a student of the school itself, referred to by police as a child in conflict with the law. Police said the alleged motive was to get the school closed for the day.
