Justice Subramonium Prasad deferred the hearing at the request of Bora's counsel. The case was listed after the student leader sought an urgent hearing in the High Court, which is shut this week for the Dussehra vacation, according to the PTI report.
The notice, issued on October 17 under Section 126 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), asked Bora to appear before the SEM on October 19 and show cause why she should not execute a personal bond of Rs 10,000 with one surety "for keeping peace for a period of enquiry." India Legal reported that the proceedings were initiated under Sections 126 and 130, read with Section 135(3), of the BNSS.

Bora was taken into preventive detention on October 16 while on her way to join the Cockroach Janata Party's 'Lehra Do Tiranga' march, and was released on October 17. She has been at the forefront of protests against alleged irregularities in the Election Commission's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
In her petition, settled by lawyer Abhik Chimni, Bora has said the police notice is vague, factually incorrect and contains no material to substantiate a likelihood of breach of peace. She has sought quashing of the notice and a direction restraining the police from taking coercive action against her, invoking Articles 19(1)(a), 19(1)(b) and 21 of the Constitution, India Legal reported.
Bar and Bench reported that the notice cites alleged sloganeering at Mandi House, repeated protests around Jantar Mantar despite prohibitory orders, and an allegation that she instigated people to join a protest at Connaught Place — claims Bora disputes in her plea.
