Chouhan said the target was completed by the night of October 23, 2026. The IDs are 11-digit unique Farmer IDs, also called Kisan Pehchaan Patra, issued under the AgriStack framework, Inshorts reported, and Chouhan described it as a historic day for Indian agriculture.

According to the ministry, a Farmer ID gives each farmer a unique digital identity intended to make access to government schemes, bank loans, crop insurance and disaster relief more transparent, efficient and timely, while reducing paperwork and repeated verification.

Chouhan congratulated farmers across the country and credited the coordinated efforts of the central government, state governments and field-level officials for completing the target ahead of schedule, the ministry said.
