Locked at 1-1 until the final quarter
India struck first when Vivek Sagar Prasad set up Sukhjeet Singh's move down the left of the circle for Abhishek's opener, but Japan levelled within four minutes through Yamada's penalty stroke. The score stayed 1-1 deep into the match before Harmanpreet's drag-flick from India's first penalty corner of the night turned the game in the 47th minute, and Abhishek and Vishnu Kant finished the job in a three-goal final quarter.
