Christchurch: Dhruv Jurel completed the hundred he had left unfinished overnight, scoring 105 as India A posted 346 on day two of the second unofficial Test against New Zealand A at Hagley Oval on Sunday, the live scorecard on CricTracker showed. This is a new development from day one, when Jurel's unbeaten 99 had rescued India A from 160 for 6 to 291 for 7 at stumps.

Jurel, the India A captain and wicketkeeper, made 105 from 171 balls with 11 fours and three sixes before he was caught by Rhys Mariu off Brett Randell. Akash Deep, who was 25 not out overnight, went on to make 68 from 116 balls with 10 fours and two sixes, extending the recovery Jurel had begun with Manav Suthar on day one.
Devdutt Padikkal's 80 and Sai Sudharsan's 41 from day one remained the other main contributions. For New Zealand A, Fraser Sheat finished with 4 for 63, Randell took 2 for 66 and Jarrod McKay took 2 for 113, according to the scorecard.
New Zealand A lose three early wickets
In reply, New Zealand A reached 93 for 3 in 28.1 overs at the latest score on day two. Mukesh Kumar dismissed Curtis Heaphy for 4 and Tim Robinson for 3 to take 2 for 24, while Mohammed Siraj removed captain Rhys Mariu for 4. Matt Boyle was not out on 34 and Dean Foxcroft was not out on 37, with the hosts still trailing by 253 runs.
Sportstar reported that the hundred strengthens Jurel's case as a wicketkeeping option for India's upcoming Test series against New Zealand, with Rishabh Pant's availability still subject to fitness clearance. Jurel had managed scores of one and two in the first four-day game in Lincoln, and the third India A fixture is scheduled in Lincoln from November 7, the report said.
