Bengaluru: Karnataka's final electoral roll was published on Tuesday, October 27, listing 4,55,00,011 electors at the end of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 conducted under the Election Commission of India, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Karnataka, said. The roll has 99,32,303 fewer names — yaani over 99 lakh — than the 5,54,32,314 electors recorded before the revision began, a contraction of 17.9 per cent.

The final roll has 2,25,40,493 men, 2,29,12,355 women and 2,841 third-gender electors, along with 44,322 service electors, according to the CEO's figures reported by Nation Press. It includes 6,83,364 first-time voters aged 18–19, 86,56,838 voters in the 20–29 age group, 3,92,134 voters aged 85 and above, and 5,65,340 electors with disabilities. The draft roll published on August 24 had left out 1,07,96,339 names — every elector whose enumeration form was not submitted during house-to-house verification. The CEO's office categorised those non-returned forms as 65,45,679 permanently shifted electors, 19,00,926 absent electors, 16,39,864 deceased electors and 7,09,870 duplicate entries; only 80.52 per cent of the original electors submitted their forms to booth-level officers. During the claims-and-objections phase, 43,82,824 notices were generated and heard, 61,867 electors were ultimately marked ineligible, and the final roll restored a net 8,64,036 names over the draft.

The revision ran in phases from June 30: house-to-house verification by 60,923 booth-level officers across as many polling stations in all 224 Assembly constituencies until August 17, the draft roll on August 24, and claims and objections until September 23, with notice disposal completed by October 22, NewsPlainly reported, citing CEO Karnataka figures carried by The Hindu and the New Indian Express. Karnataka's 17.9 per cent contraction is the second-highest among the 24 states and Union Territories that have completed their revisions so far, behind only Arunachal Pradesh at about 22 per cent, with about 7.04 crore names removed across all 24 jurisdictions in total.

The CEO's office said the roll remains open for continuous updation through the year, and copies have been shared with all recognised political parties. A voter whose name is missing can still apply for enrolment or correction, and anyone aggrieved by an Electoral Registration Officer's decision can appeal to the District Magistrate under Section 24(a) of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, and further to the Chief Electoral Officer under Section 24(b).

Karnataka voters can verify their entry on the Election Commission's electoral search portal or on the CEO Karnataka website. Enrolment and corrections continue year-round — publication of the final roll does not close the door.
