Addressing the programme, Modi said wars are now being fought not only conventionally but also by attacking economies, and that India's banking system needs to be protected from cyber terrorists, PTI reported. He said India's banking sector is now among the most efficient in the world, with people connected to 24x7 services, and that small entrepreneurs, traditional artisans, street vendors and unorganised-sector workers had benefited from formal banking for the first time.
The Prime Minister said the data centre and training institute would be immensely beneficial for the people of Odisha and the country, and that development meant balanced growth for India with opportunities for villages and small towns. Odisha, he said, would write its future in sectors from mines to microchips, opening many doors of opportunity for its youth, PTI reported.
The training institute will serve as a platform for cybersecurity and enterprise-technology training and research for the banking, financial services and insurance sector, with a focus on frontier technologies including artificial intelligence and quantum computing, Nation Press reported. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi welcomed the project, saying it would strengthen the state's digital infrastructure and give new momentum to the security of the country's financial data, Mirror Now reported.
