Welcoming Tusk, Modi recalled his 2024 visit to Poland, when the two countries elevated relations to a Strategic Partnership, and said the friendship is rooted in a shared heritage of humanity and empathy — recalling that the royal families of Jamnagar and Kolhapur sheltered thousands of Polish children and families during the Second World War. Tusk said he was proud to call Modi his friend and that India and Poland have no conflict of interest, ANI reported.
