The 20-hour, activity-based module covers five units including deepfakes, data privacy and prompt use, and was developed with faculty from IIT Madras and IIT Jodhpur, Hindustan Times reported via Inshorts. It is designed for students with no prior AI knowledge.

Announced on October 23 and aligned with the National Education Policy 2020, the module uses classroom discussions, exercises and hands-on activities that can be conducted with or without digital devices, so schools with different levels of infrastructure can use it, Elets Digital Learning reported.

A central theme is responsible use: students are asked to verify AI-generated information instead of accepting it blindly, protect personal data, and understand fairness, digital safety and the limits of machine-made answers. NCERT said the module stresses human judgement, creativity and ethical responsibility.
In its announcement on X, NCERT described the module with the line: 'Think Smart. Create with AI. Learn Responsibly,' and said it encourages critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving through hands-on, activity-based learning.
