Aichi-Nagoya: India's Nishad Kumar won his second gold medal in two days at the Asian Para Games 2026 on Tuesday, clearing a Games-record 2.04 metres to win the men's high jump T47 title. The two-time Paralympic silver medallist had won gold in the men's long jump T47 a day earlier with a leap of 7.11 metres.

With two golds at a single edition, Nishad joins an elite Indian club alongside Ankur Dhama and Sheetal Devi, who both won two gold medals at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Para Games. The T47 class is for athletes with upper-limb impairments.

Nishad, from Amb in Himachal Pradesh, lost his right arm in a farm accident at the age of six; he won high-jump silver at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Paralympics and a world championship gold in 2025.
