Sandeep Singh Maan won the men's 400m — a combined race for the T42, T44 and T64 classifications — in 52.28 seconds at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletics Stadium, leading from the start and holding off a late surge from Saudi Arabia's Alsana Noor. The time was a world record and bettered his personal best by more than a second, Tech Word News reported. Punjab Khabarnama independently reported India crossing the 100-medal mark and the men's 400m T64 world record falling.

India's Ajay Kumar took bronze in the same 400m race in 53.61 seconds. Maan's win was India's 25th gold of the Games, taking the country to within two of its best-ever gold tally of 27, set at the previous edition in Hangzhou, Tech Word News reported.
Moments later, javelin thrower Haney produced throws of 59.72m and 60.49m on his last two attempts to win the men's F37/38 gold. His 60.49m broke the long-standing world record of 57.81m set by China's Xia Dong in 2008, Tech Word News reported.
India had ended Thursday with 88 medals — 21 gold, 26 silver and 41 bronze — and Friday's world-record double pushed the contingent past the century mark with the Games running until October 24.
