India's medal tally at the 2026 Asian Para Games in Aichi-Nagoya rose to 22 medals — five gold, eight silver and nine bronze — on Tuesday, ANI reported via LatestLY, as shooter Manish Narwal secured silver in the men's 10m air pistol SH1 event. Livemint's live coverage of Day 2 reported that Narwal's silver also booked him a quota place for the LA 2028 Paralympics.

Powerlifter Ashok added another silver for India in the men's up to 65kg category, ESPN's Day 2 live blog and ANI both reported.

In para table tennis, Jehan Madan won bronze in the men's singles Class 1 after finishing fourth in the round-robin stage with one win and three losses, Livemint reported — India's first and only medal in the men's singles table-tennis competition at these Games.

The Day 2 tally builds on medals Awaaz Punjab reported earlier on Tuesday: Deepthi Jeevanji's Games-record gold in the women's 400m T20, the javelin F53/F54 double podium of Pradeep Kumar (silver) and Ayush Verma (bronze), Praveen Sharma's shot put F11 bronze, and four women's table-tennis bronzes for Bhavina Patel, Sonalben Patel, Prachi Pandey and Baby Sahana Ravi — the last two being India's first-ever medals in the standing category of para table tennis at the Asian Para Games.

India had ended the opening day with 11 medals, including four golds, and the contingent's campaign continues in Aichi-Nagoya.
