India's medal tally at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games 2026 climbed to 23 on Tuesday, with paddler Jehan Madan's bronze in the men's singles Class 1 event adding the latest medal — and President Droupadi Murmu congratulated the day's medallists in a series of posts on X.
According to IANS, India's tally now stands at five gold, eight silver and ten bronze medals. Madan's bronze, won after his semi-final against China's Mao Jingdiyan, was India's fifth table-tennis medal of the day, following bronzes for Bhavina Patel (women's singles Class 4–5), Sonalben Patel (Class 3), Prachi Pandey (Class 6) and Sahana Ravi (Class 9).
President Murmu congratulated Deepthi Jeevanji on her gold in the women's 400m T20 — a title defence sealed with a new Games record — calling it a triumph that 'brings immense pride to Bharat'. She also praised Bhavina Patel's bronze, noted that Sonalben Patel's bronze was her first-ever singles medal at the Games, and hailed shot-putter Praveen Sharma, whose personal-best 13.86m throw in the men's F11 event won bronze on his Games debut.
Earlier on Tuesday, Pradeep Kumar (silver) and Ayush Verma (bronze) had given India a double podium in the men's javelin throw F53/54. Competition at the Games is still ongoing, and India's tally could rise further.
