Both main businesses grew strongly: Consumer and Bazaar sales rose more than 20 per cent and Business-to-Business revenue grew 21.8 per cent on a standalone basis, the results showed. But profit grew far slower than sales because input costs rose — standalone EBITDA was nearly flat at Rs 811 crore and the margin contracted by over four percentage points.

Pidilite, best known for Fevicol, also makes M-Seal, Fevikwik, Dr. Fixit and Fevicryl. The quarter tells a split story investors have seen across consumer companies this season: household and construction demand is healthy, but raw-material costs are eating the benefit before it reaches the bottom line.
