Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk will be on an official visit to India from October 21 to 23 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ministry of External Affairs announced on Monday (October 19).

This will be Tusk's second visit to India as Polish Prime Minister — the first was in his earlier tenure in 2010. He also visited New Delhi in 2017 for the India-EU Summit as President of the European Council.

Tusk will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Modi on October 22, reviewing the entire spectrum of bilateral ties, which were elevated to a Strategic Partnership during PM Modi's visit to Poland in August 2024. The two leaders will also discuss regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Tusk will be accompanied by Poland's Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domanski and a large business delegation. An India-Poland Business Forum will be held in New Delhi on October 22 and in Bengaluru on October 23, where in Bengaluru Tusk will engage with business stakeholders, including those from the IT and space sectors.

The MEA said the visit will strengthen the India-Poland Strategic Partnership and advance cooperation in trade and investment, defence, emerging technologies, renewable energy, education, culture and people-to-people ties, and would also serve to deepen the India-EU strategic partnership.

Earlier, on September 4, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski in Warsaw and reviewed progress of the Joint Action Plan 2024–28.
