India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is all but ruled out of the five-match ODI series against New Zealand starting November 4, as he is yet to fully recover from a hamstring injury, a BCCI source told PTI on Wednesday. Reports in several outlets carried the same PTI account; there was no official BCCI squad-change announcement in the reports.

"Prasidh is recovering well and has his match simulation and fitness test lined up at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on November 1 and 2. In any case, the team management as well as the national selection committee believes that Prasidh should be fully ready for Tests, where he is required more than ODIs," the BCCI source told PTI.

Prasidh strained his hamstring during the home ODI series against the West Indies, in the second ODI in early October according to CREX, and has been recovering at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru since then. He had been named in the New Zealand ODI squad for the first three matches subject to fitness clearance.

Jammu and Kashmir pacer Auqib Nabi is in line to step in. PTI reported Nabi impressed in the first unofficial red-ball match between India A and New Zealand A in Lincoln and is in contention for inclusion, while Sportskeeda reported, citing reports, that Nabi, originally named only for the final two ODIs, is likely to replace Prasidh for all five games. That replacement has not been officially announced in the reports.
