According to the Congress, students at the meeting voiced serious concerns over a sharp decline in the quality of teaching, mentorship and study materials at the institute, Nation Press reported, summarising the party's account. They also alleged that the institute's management had been unresponsive to demands for fee refunds for months, the report said, citing a Congress post on X. These are the students' and the party's allegations; the reports did not carry a response from Vision IAS.

A dispute running since July

The grievances are not new. Students and faculty staged a protest outside the institute's main branch in Karol Bagh, Delhi, in July 2026 over suspended and repeatedly cancelled classes, academic disruptions and the non-payment of teachers' salaries, Nation Press reported. Faculty members at the time reported delayed or withheld payments stretching over several months, while students demanded fee refunds, the report said.

Nation Press also reported that the institute had earlier faced a penalty of Rs. 11 lakh — yaani Rs. 11,00,000 — from the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) over misleading claims about UPSC results. Awaaz Punjab is presenting that figure as reported by Nation Press; the meeting itself is confirmed by IANS, Nation Press and Mid-Day.

Vision IAS is one of India's best-known preparatory institutes for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, and the meeting puts political focus on a dispute that thousands of aspirants say has affected their preparation. What action, if any, follows from the meeting was not announced in the reports.
