As background, the RBI's latest Monetary Policy Report has underscored that while India's macroeconomic outlook remains resilient, it remains vulnerable to geopolitical developments, volatility in global energy markets and weather-related uncertainties, The Hindu BusinessLine reported. The report listed weak monsoons coupled with a strong El Nino, protracted geopolitical tensions, rising international commodity prices, additional frictions in global trade and tightening global financial conditions as factors that could adversely affect the growth outlook.
