Nagoya, Oct 21: Indian sprinter Simran won the gold medal in the women's 100m T12 at the Asian Para Games in Nagoya on Wednesday, clocking a Games Record time of 12.02 seconds, PTI reported.
The Bridge, in its live coverage of India's athletics results at the Games, also reported Simran's gold in 12.02 seconds with a new Games Record, and noted this was her second gold medal at these Games, following her first in the women's 200m T12.
Earlier on Wednesday, Simran had stormed into the 100m T12 final by winning her heat in 12.13 seconds — itself reported as a Games record at the heat stage by MyKhel — before improving to 12.02 seconds in the final.
Simran had won the women's 200m T12 on Tuesday in 24.80 seconds, with compatriot Tejalben Damor taking bronze in a personal-best 25.23 seconds, giving India a double podium in that event as well.
The T12 classification is for athletes with a visual impairment, who may race with a guide runner.
