Saarbrücken, November 1: P.V. Sindhu won the Hylo Open women's singles title on Sunday, defeating Denmark's Line Højmark Kjaersfeldt 21-12, 21-14 in straight games in the final of the BWF Super 500 tournament in Saarbrücken, Germany, MyKhel reported. The win is the double Olympic medallist's second BWF title of the season, after her Japan Open triumph in July, and she won every match this week without dropping a game.

Second seed Sindhu, the world No. 8, led 11-8 at the first interval of the opening game and stayed in control throughout against the eighth-seeded Dane, ranked 25th in the world. She sealed the title on her first match point when Kjaersfeldt committed a net error, Nation Press reported, collecting 9,200 ranking points from the USD 500,000 event. Sindhu had entered the final with a 6-1 head-to-head lead over Kjaersfeldt, whose only previous win over her came at the 2025 Sudirman Cup Finals.

The Dane stayed within reach until 12-14 in the first game before Sindhu pulled away by winning seven consecutive rallies, Flashscore reported. Kjaersfeldt, who has now lost all eight World Tour finals she has played, fought back from 3-7 down early in the second game but could not match Sindhu's precision as the Indian closed out the match.

A quick answer after Paris, and a second Indian final to come
The title is a swift response to last week, when Sindhu finished runner-up at the French Open in Paris. It also strengthens her prospects of qualifying for the season-ending BWF World Tour Finals in December. India still had a second title shot on Sunday in Saarbrücken: Lakshya Sen, who beat France's Toma Junior Popov 21-17, 21-13 in the semi-final reported by Awaaz Punjab on Saturday, was due to face Indonesia's Jonatan Christie in the men's singles final later in the day.
