"Hello everyone, I'm truly grateful to share this moment with you all: the first look of Belonging: A Journey of Love. It is a story of love, duty, loss, and finding a place to belong. I look forward to sharing it with you," Gandhi wrote in her first Instagram post, according to IANS.

In the video shared with the post, Gandhi is seen receiving the first copies of her book and sharing sweets with her daughter, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. PTI reported that Gandhi pointed out the book contains a lot of photographs. She had no social media account until now; IANS reported she had over 10,700 followers shortly after joining and follows her children Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, as well as the Indian National Congress.

November 10 release, after a publisher switch

The memoir is set for worldwide release on November 10, 2026, with pre-orders open. It is published globally by Alfred A. Knopf, with HarperCollins India handling the Indian release. HarperCollins India described it as "one of the most anticipated political memoirs of our time" and "a rare insider's view of India's journey."

The Indian publication follows an earlier impasse: HarperCollins India's announcement last month ended uncertainty after Penguin Random House India, initially keen to publish the memoir, said it would not be the Indian publisher. PTI reported the change followed reports of differences over editorial changes to the manuscript — reports Penguin had earlier refuted; the publisher's own statement said only that it "is not the publisher of 'Belonging' in India."
