The talks focused on strengthening defence cooperation through military education, training exchanges and capacity building. The Indian Army's Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI) posted on X that the engagement 'reinforced mutual trust and the shared commitment towards deeper military cooperation.'

During the visit, the Tanzanian delegation visited the 505 Army Base Workshop and DPSU Bhawan, gaining exposure to India's military maintenance capabilities and indigenous defence manufacturing, and paid homage to fallen soldiers at the National War Memorial in New Delhi.

Earlier this year, the two countries held the fourth edition of the Joint Defence Cooperation Committee meeting in Zanzibar from February 2 to 3, co-chaired by Defence Ministry Joint Secretary (International Cooperation) Amitabh Prasad, discussing military training, maritime security, defence industry collaboration, cyber and artificial intelligence.

Nation Press noted the staff talks mark an institutional milestone in a relationship that was elevated to a strategic partnership in 2023.
