India and Thailand held discussions on further strengthening cooperation between their air forces through bilateral exercises, joint operations and training programmes aimed at deepening their defence partnership, IANS reported from Bangkok on Wednesday.

The discussions took place during a meeting on Tuesday, October 20, between India's Ambassador to Thailand, Puneet Agrawal, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Sakesan Kantha. In a post on X, the Indian Embassy in Thailand said the talks focused on further strengthening Indian Air Force–Royal Thai Air Force cooperation through bilateral exercises, joint operations and training programmes.

The meeting follows the 14th edition of staff talks between the Indian Navy and the Royal Thai Navy, held in New Delhi last month, where both sides reaffirmed their commitment to capacity building and training and identified areas for further collaboration, according to IANS and NewKerala.

Earlier in July, Indian Naval Ships INS Udaygiri, INS Shakti and INS Kavaratti of the Eastern Fleet undertook a Passage Exercise with the Royal Thai Navy's HTMS Chao Phraya, reaffirming a shared commitment to maritime security and regional stability. Sources: IANS and NewKerala.
