The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Esplanade in Mumbai on Wednesday remanded three accused in the Tiger Shroff firing case to the custody of the Mumbai Police Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) until October 31, Bar and Bench reported. PTI's news listing the same day also reported the remand till October 31.

The accused were identified by Bar and Bench as Rehan, Ritik Kurmi and Phool Singh. They were produced before the magistrate after being brought to Mumbai from Kota, Rajasthan, where they had been arrested. The prosecution sought police custody to investigate the alleged conspiracy behind the incident on the evening of October 18, when assailants fired five to six rounds at Shroff's car in Juhu. Shroff escaped relatively unhurt, while his driver and a bystander sustained injuries, and an FIR for attempt to murder and offences under the Arms Act was registered, Bar and Bench reported.

According to police allegations reported by Bar and Bench, the accused abandoned their motorcycle in Andheri after the shooting and attempted to flee towards Nepal via Surat, Jaipur and Delhi before being intercepted by Kota police. Police allege a link to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which claimed responsibility in an unverified social media post, and allege that Rehan was in contact with a foreign-based gang associate — these claims are police allegations and have not been proved in court.

Bar and Bench also reported that the Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested four additional suspects for allegedly supplying the firearms used in the attack, and that police claim a pistol and 20 rounds were procured from Amritsar on the foreign contact's instructions. Advocate Ajinkya Mirgal appeared for the accused. Custodial interrogation is under way to ascertain the motive, police said.
