IANS identified the four as Kunal, 21, and Sumit, 19, from Sonipat in Haryana, Radha, 23, from Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh, and Babita, 23, from Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, and said they were arrested on October 20. They were brought to Mumbai on transit remand and produced after medical examinations, the reports said.

During the hearing, Mumbai Police argued — as their allegation — that the firing was carried out at the behest of Anil Pandit, who has been named as an absconding accused in the police remand application, ANI reported. The allegation has not been proven in court.

Defence lawyer Ajinkya Mirgal Madhukar told reporters the remand report gave no specific details about the alleged weapon supply, mentioning only a pistol without stating whether it was country-made or foreign-made or its type. He argued that forensic examination of the seized mobile phones did not require the accused to remain in physical custody, ANI reported.

Police sources have claimed, according to IANS, that the accused practised firing before the attack, including test-firing a weapon inside a hotel room in Mumbai's Andheri area, where a misfire allegedly struck a bed without alerting hotel staff. These are police-source claims reported by the agency, not findings of the court.

ANI said Mumbai Police have also arrested seven more people from Haryana in the case, taking the total number of people under suspicion to 10. The firing took place at about 7 pm on October 18 in Juhu as Shroff was leaving a football club; the actor escaped unhurt while his driver was injured.
