Despite rainy conditions, India made an immediate impact: Deepak Singh Arambam's first-minute corner caused confusion in the Cameroon box, with Ngobo's attempted headed clearance sending the ball into his own net. Cameroon increased the pressure, but India defended resolutely, and Jenit kept out a free-kick in the 16th minute, Randy Ngome's first-time effort a minute later, and Ndam Moctar's one-on-one attempt in the 18th minute, IANS reported.
