The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday, October 30, announced India's 15-member squad for the ACC Men's Under-19 Asia Cup, to be played in Muscat, Oman, from November 5 to 14. Uttarakhand batter Lakshya Raichandani will captain the side, with Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan as his deputy, the BCCI said in its media advisory.

The squad carries two famous surnames. Aaryavir Sehwag, son of former India opener Virender Sehwag, and wicketkeeper Anvay Dravid, son of former India captain and head coach Rahul Dravid, have both been picked, news agencies IANS and ANI reported. The Junior Cricket Committee that selected the squad is chaired by Parvinder Awana.

The selection largely keeps faith with the group that beat Australia Under-19 3-0 in the recent Youth ODI series, with Ishan Sood coming in, according to Cricbuzz. ESPNcricinfo noted that Sehwag scored 28, 47 and 34 in the one-day series against Australia, while Dravid, the side's first-choice wicketkeeper, made 38 and 9 in two one-dayers after an 87 off 67 balls on the Sri Lanka tour.
